Role Description This full-time, on-site Junior Software Engineer role is based in Miri and focuses on supporting the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications and back-end web systems. Responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code, assisting in debugging and resolving technical issues, and collaborating with senior engineers to implement new features and improvements. The role involves participating in code reviews, following established development standards and best practices, and contributing to technical documentation. The Junior Software Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, ensure software quality, and support continuous improvement of development processes.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts and principles.
• Experience or coursework in Software Development and Programming, including basic algorithm and data structure knowledge.
• Understanding of Back-End Web Development practices, such as server-side logic and integration with databases or APIs.
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and ability to apply OOP principles in code design.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Familiarity with at least one common programming language (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript) and willingness to learn new technologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, communicate clearly, and follow guidance from senior engineers.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude toward learning and professional development.
