Job Purpose
Responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining pumping equipment and associated systems to support offshore well services and field operations. The role ensures equipment is operated safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved procedures, operational requirements, HSE standards and client requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor pumping equipment and associated systems during offshore operations.
- Carry out equipment preparation, rig-up, pressure testing, operation and rig-down activities in accordance with approved procedures.
- Monitor operating parameters and ensure equipment operates within the required limits.
- Conduct pre-job inspections, function tests and equipment checks to ensure equipment is safe and fit for operation.
- Perform routine inspection, cleaning, basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of pumping equipment.
- Identify and report equipment abnormalities, defects, leaks or unsafe conditions to the Supervisor.
- Assist with the preparation, handling, mixing and transfer of fluids and materials required for operations.
- Ensure hoses, lines, valves, manifolds and associated equipment are properly connected, secured and ready for operation.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment readings, operating activities, maintenance activities and job-related information.
- Assist the Supervisor and offshore crew in carrying out operational activities in accordance with approved procedures and instructions.
- Participate in pre-job meetings, toolbox talks, risk assessments and post-job reviews.
- Maintain good housekeeping and ensure equipment and work areas are kept clean, organised and safe.
- Comply with company and client requirements relating to HSE, permit-to-work systems, equipment safety and offshore operations.
- Participate in emergency response activities and comply with established offshore emergency procedures.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor or Management.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, well services, pumping or related field operations.
- Previous offshore experience is preferred.
- Hands-on experience in operating and handling pumping equipment and associated systems.
- Basic knowledge of equipment rig-up/rig-down, pressure testing and routine equipment checks.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance of operational equipment.
- Good understanding of HSE requirements and safe working practices in an offshore environment.
- Physically fit and able to work offshore on a rotational basis and extended working hours.
- Able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow operational procedures and instructions.
- Technical or vocational qualification in Mechanical, Engineering or a related field would be an advantage.
- Possession of relevant offshore certifications such as BOSIET/FOET and Offshore Medical is preferred.
