Position Summary

The English Lecturer will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, conducting research, and contributing to curriculum development in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and Applied Linguistics. The role involves supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students, engaging with developments in English language education, and collaborating with schools, educational institutions, government agencies, and industry partners. The successful candidate will contribute to strengthening the University's reputation in English language teaching, teacher education, and research.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Applied Linguistics, English Language Education, English Studies, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 1–5 years of teaching experience at the university level in TESL, English Language Education, or a related discipline.
• Experience in curriculum development, accreditation processes, and academic administration is an advantage.
• Expertise in English Language Teaching (ELT), Second Language Acquisition (SLA), Applied Linguistics, Language Assessment, and English Curriculum Development.
• Knowledge of contemporary English language teaching methodologies and curriculum frameworks.
• Experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods in language education.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Passion for language teaching, teacher education, and student development.
• Ability to foster an engaging, inclusive, and learner-centred environment.
• Commitment to continuous professional development, research, and academic excellence.

Job Description

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in TESL, Applied Linguistics, English Language Teaching Methodology, Second Language Acquisition, English Grammar, Language Assessment, Sociolinguistics, and related disciplines.
• Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies, including communicative language teaching, task-based learning, blended learning, and digital pedagogy.
• Design and assess course materials, lesson plans, assessments, and teaching resources aligned with accreditation and quality assurance standards.
• Integrate educational technologies, online learning platforms, and AI-assisted language learning tools into teaching and learning.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, dissertations, and theses in TESL and related fields.
• Conduct language workshops, teacher training programmes, and community English language outreach initiatives.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
