Job Purpose

 

We are seeking a skilled Android Developer to design, build, enhance and maintain high-performance mobile applications. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, secure, and scalable Android applications that provide an excellent user experience. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in native Android development, clean coding practices, and a passion for delivering seamless user experiences in a fast-paced, Agile environment. Experience in iOS development is highly desirable to support cross-platform collaboration and future product enhancements. The successful candidate will be appointed on an initial two-year contract. 

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

 

Job Responsibilities 

 

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance Android applications.
• Translate business and functional requirements into robust, scalable, and maintainable mobile solutions.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers and Backend Engineers, throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Write clean, efficient, reusable, and well-tested code following Android development best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance, stability, and user experience.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and backend services with mobile applications.
• Ensure application security, data privacy, and compliance with cybersecurity best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay current with emerging Android technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.
• Support CI/CD implementation, release management, and app deployment to Google Play Store.
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team

Qualifications & Work Experience

 

Qualifications and Work Experience

 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of Android application development experience.
• Experience developing and maintaining production mobile applications.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and RESTful API integration.
• Experience with AWS or cloud platforms is an advantage.
• Experience working with location services, push notifications, QR code scanning, payment integration, or digital wallets.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and automated mobile testing.
• Exposure to AI-powered mobile features is an added advantage.
• iOS development experience (Swift) is a bonus.

Skills

 

Technical skills include:

• Strong proficiency in Kotlin (preferred) and Java for Android development.
• Solid understanding of Android SDK and common libraries.
• Strong knowledge in networking wrapper/ libraries like Retrofit & Ktor.
• Strong knowledge in modern android architectures like MVVM & MVI as well as android clean architecture.
• Deep understanding of data holders and data stream like LiveData, Channels and Flows.
• Familiar with Jetpack Compose’s reactive and declarative UI framework.
• Experience in Jetpack Navigation Component.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and mobile databases.
• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD, Firebase, and mobile application security.
• iOS development using Swift/Xcode is an added advantage.
