What You'll Be Doing

As a Primary Drama Teacher, your key responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging drama lessons that develop students' creative expression, confidence, and performance skills across primary year groups
• Creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel confident to participate and take creative risks
• Designing age-appropriate drama activities that incorporate various theatre techniques, improvisation, and scripted work
• Assessing students' progress in drama and providing constructive feedback to support their development
• Collaborating with colleagues to integrate drama across the curriculum and support interdisciplinary learning
• Organising and directing school drama productions, performances, and events that showcase student talent
• Maintaining drama resources, equipment, and performance spaces in good working order
• Communicating regularly with parents and guardians regarding students' progress and achievements in drama
• Contributing to the school's programmes and extracurricular drama clubs or activities
  
  

What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A recognised teaching qualification in Primary School Drama or a related discipline, or equivalent experience teaching drama at primary level
• Proven experience teaching drama to primary-aged students in an international or multicultural school setting
• Strong knowledge of drama pedagogy, theatre techniques, and child development as it relates to creative education
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
• Creative thinking and the ability to develop imaginative, engaging lessons that inspire student participation
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to working within a team
• Experience with drama performance, directing, or production would be highly advantageous
• A commitment to the values of international education and cultural diversity
