Linux Engineer

Contract: 6 Months

Location: Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur

Work Mode: Hybrid – 1–2 days/week onsite

Rate: MYR 14,000/month

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Linux Engineer with 8+ years of experience in Linux infrastructure, deployment, implementation, networking, and security. Strong hands-on experience with Linux OS, NixOS, and Routing & Switching is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux OS environments.
• Support NixOS, RHEL, Guix, and Immutable OS platforms.
• Configure and troubleshoot nftables, stateful firewalls, security zoning, and network segmentation.
• Perform Layer 2 Routing & Switching configuration and troubleshooting.
• Support deployment and implementation of network/security solutions.
• Work with firewall technologies such as Cisco, FortiGate, Check Point, and Palo Alto.
• Support security monitoring and network analysis using Zeek and Suricata.
• Work with Cilium for network and security requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex Linux, network, and security issues.
• Maintain technical documentation and support implementation/change activities.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in Linux/Network/Security Engineering.
• Linux OS – Mandatory.
• Routing & Switching – Mandatory.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• NixOS – Preferred.
• Experience with Zeek, Suricata, nftables, and Cilium is an advantage.
• Knowledge of security zoning, stateful firewalling, and network segmentation.
• Good troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
