Okapi Solar is a solar financing startup that is accelerating the energy transition in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. We develop embedded financing solutions and affordable solar leasing packages, enabling homeowners to go solar with little to no upfront cost. Backed by leading impact investors in the region, we distribute our proprietary underwriting platform through a network of installer partners and manage a growing portfolio of distributed residential and commercial solar assets.

We are looking for an Operations Officer to join our lean team as we scale. You will work across the full customer journey from financing application through to lease commencement. You will play a key role in keeping the pipeline moving, customers informed, and our data systems accurate. As an early-stage company, the scope of this role will evolve, and we expect the right person to grow with it.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the day-to-day financing pipeline — tracking case status, chasing documents, and coordinating between customers, installers, and the credit team.
• Perform first-level KYC review and prepare credit assessment packages for review.
• Support the credit manager in the assessment of cases, gathering relevant background information and providing an informed view on borderline applications.
• Coordinate agreement execution including term sheet dispatch, agreement signing and payment setups
• Serve as the primary operations contact for customers and installers throughout the onboarding process, managing communications across WhatsApp, email, and the Okapi Hub.
• Support post-commencement customer service including payment queries, auto debit issues, and ongoing lease management.
• Monitor the live lease portfolio for payment health and flag issues for follow-up.
• Maintain accurate records across Okapi Hub and support ongoing improvements to operational processes.
• Contribute to reporting, asset monitoring, and other operational tasks as the business grows.

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 2 years of experience in operations, financial services, or a related field.
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia required
• High proficiency in spreadsheet software; comfort working with data systems and dashboards.
• Must have strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• A self-starter who is comfortable operating with autonomy in a small, fast-moving team.
• Experience in solar, fintech, or leasing is not required but would be advantageous.
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
