SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Modern Workplace Engineer based in Malaysia to support a large-scale endpoint management transformation for our client in the banking sector.

The role will lead the migration of approximately 14,000 Windows devices from VMware Workspace ONE (AirWatch) to Microsoft Intune while helping establish a new Intune environment for Windows, iOS, and Android devices.

An automated migration method is already in place and is designed to complete each migration in approximately five minutes without disrupting the user.

The engineer will serve as the local technical anchor for deployment troubleshooting, PowerShell updates, and coordination with the wider infrastructure team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the migration of approximately 14,000 Windows endpoints from VMware Workspace ONE (AirWatch) to Microsoft Intune using the established automated and zero-downtime framework.

• Monitor migration progress, identify failure patterns, validate device status, and resolve edge cases without interrupting end users.

• Design, configure, and deploy a greenfield Microsoft Intune environment for Windows, iOS, and Android endpoints.

• Create and maintain device enrollment settings, configuration profiles, compliance policies, security baselines, application deployment policies, and App Protection Policies for MDM and MAM.

• Maintain, debug, and improve PowerShell scripts used for enrollment, device configuration, policy enforcement, validation, and migration workflows.

• Act as the Tier 3 escalation point for Windows endpoint issues, including deployment failures, profile conflicts, enrollment blocks, and policy errors.

• Coordinate with the hybrid configuration and infrastructure teams on Entra ID integration, Conditional Access, identity synchronization, network readiness, certificates, and application dependencies.

• Document technical procedures, migration runbooks, known issues, fixes, and handover requirements for ongoing support.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must currently reside in Malaysia and be available for a hybrid work arrangement in Kuala Lumpur during local business hours.

• Proven hands-on experience designing and implementing Microsoft Intune or Microsoft Endpoint Manager from the ground up in an enterprise environment.

• Strong administration experience across Windows 10 and 11, iOS, and Android endpoints.

• Advanced PowerShell skills, including the ability to write, debug, and modify scripts for enterprise Windows endpoint management.

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID device states, including Entra joined, registered, and hybrid joined devices, as well as modern endpoint management concepts.

• Hands-on experience with Intune configuration profiles, compliance policies, Conditional Access, application deployment, and App Protection Policies.

• Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex endpoint migration, enrollment, policy, and deployment issues at Tier 3 level.

• Able to work independently as the local technical anchor while collaborating effectively with local and global teams.

PREFERRED

• Previous experience migrating devices from VMware Workspace ONE or AirWatch to Microsoft Intune.

• Experience supporting high-volume migrations involving several thousand enterprise endpoints.

• Experience in a regulated financial services or banking environment.
