TurnAround or Shutdown Rotating Equipment Technicians in the Bintulu oil and gas sector execute high-intensity mechanical overhauls, laser alignments, and fault testing on critical assets like heavy-duty compressors and industrial pumps during scheduled plant shutdowns.

Key Responsibilities

• Overhaul & Servicing: Dismantle, inspect, repair, and reassemble mechanical rotating equipment (centrifugal/reciprocating compressors, turbines, pumps, gearboxes) to OEM specifications.
• Alignment & Calibration: Perform precision shaft alignments using laser and reverse dial methods.
• Testing & Rigging: Carry out safe lifting, rigging, and functional load testing post-maintenance.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to plant HSE, Permit-to-Work (PTW), and confined space protocols during active turnaround windows.

Key Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience with rotating units in oil, gas, or petrochemical plants.
• Project Context: Proven background supporting plant turnarounds, shutdowns, or brownfield execution.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in reading engineering drawings, using precision measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators), and executing alignment procedures.
• Certifications: Relevant vocational/certificate qualifications in mechanical engineering or related trade; valid local safety inductions (e.g., CIDB/OGSP where applicable)
