Full Stack Developer (React / Python)

About the Role

Our client is a leading global multi-strategy hedge fund investing across global markets through technology, quantitative research, and systematic investment strategies. They are seeking a Full Stack Developer to build mission-critical applications used by portfolio managers, traders, researchers, and investment professionals.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using React, TypeScript, Python, and modern web technologies.
• Build scalable backend services, REST APIs, and microservices supporting trading, investment, research, and operational platforms.
• Develop intuitive front-end applications and dashboards for portfolio managers, traders, researchers, and business users.
• Partner closely with investment professionals and business stakeholders to translate requirements into high-quality software solutions.
• Build and optimize data-intensive applications that consume real-time and historical market data.
• Develop reusable UI components, backend services, and shared engineering libraries to improve development efficiency.
• Integrate applications with internal platforms, market data providers, and third-party APIs.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, production support, and continuous platform improvements.
• Contribute to CI/CD automation, cloud deployments, and application observability.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to improve productivity and software quality.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong backend development experience using Python.
• Strong frontend development experience with React and TypeScript.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and distributed applications.
• Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with cloud-native development, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with AWS or other public cloud platforms.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate directly with technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within a hedge fund, asset manager, investment bank, fintech, or capital markets environment.
• Experience building applications supporting trading, portfolio management, risk, research, or market data.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures, messaging technologies (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and microservices.
• Experience working with large-scale data processing and analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM technologies, developer productivity tools, or intelligent automation.
• Experience developing highly available, low-latency, and business-critical applications.
