About the role
We are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Procurement & Logistics Executive to manage the company's purchasing activities and coordinate local and international shipments. You will work closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agents, warehouse personnel, production teams, and the Finance Department to ensure materials and goods are purchased at competitive prices and delivered on time.
Key responsibilities
Source and evaluate local and overseas suppliers for raw materials, packaging, machinery spare parts, consumables, services, and other operational requirements.
Obtain quotations, prepare price comparisons, and negotiate pricing, payment terms, minimum order quantities, lead times, and delivery arrangements.
Prepare and issue purchase orders based on approved purchase requisitions.
Follow up closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and prevent material shortages.
Coordinate purchasing requirements with the Production, Maintenance, Warehouse, Sales, and Finance departments.
Monitor outstanding purchase orders and resolve issues relating to pricing, quality, quantity, documentation, and delivery.
Maintain accurate supplier records, quotations, purchase orders, contracts, and supporting documents.
Evaluate supplier performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure compliance with the company's procurement procedures.
Coordinate local deliveries, imports, exports, and intercompany shipments.
Obtain and compare freight quotations and arrange shipment bookings, transportation, customs clearance, and final delivery.
About you
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Purchasing, or a related discipline.
At least 2 years of relevant experience in procurement, logistics, manufacturing, import/export, or supply-chain operations.
Familiarity with purchase orders, supplier sourcing, freight coordination, customs clearance, and shipping documentation.
Knowledge of Incoterms, HS codes, import duties, SST, and landed-cost calculations is an advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and purchasing or ERP systems.
Good written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Strong negotiation, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented, well-organised, able to work independently, and capable of following assignments through to completion.
