Role Overview
The Technical Lead is responsible for leading product transfers from ASMPT manufacturing sites to Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and supporting outsourced NPI/NPD programs. The role ensures successful industrialization, qualification, production ramp-up, and manufacturing performance while meeting quality, cost, delivery, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Co-lead end-to-end manufacturing transfer projects and production ramp-up activities.
Develop transfer plans, readiness reviews, risk mitigation strategies, and qualification activities.
Coordinate transfer of processes, tooling, fixtures, test systems, documentation, and manufacturing knowledge.
Support outsourced NPI/NPD programs and ensure DFM, DFA and DFT considerations are incorporated early.
Serve as the primary technical interface with Contract Manufacturers and drive supplier capability development.
Support FAI, PPAP, process validation, copy-exact transfer, engineering change management, and configuration control.
Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage cross-functional stakeholders, project risks, escalations, and executive reporting.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
7–10 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, NPI/NPD, Product Transfer, Industrialization, Supplier Engineering, or Contract Manufacturing.
Experience in semiconductor equipment, automation systems, capital equipment, or precision manufacturing is preferred.
Strong experience in module and system level test protocol, test stations setup will be a strong candidate for consideration.
Core Competencies
Strong technical foundation in manufacturing processes, DFM/DFA, engineering drawings, BOMs, tolerances, PLM, ECO/ECN, and product lifecycle management.
Strong project leadership skills with proven ability to manage milestones, risks, stakeholders, and multiple concurrent programs.
Excellent communication and influencing skills across R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Procurement, and Contract Manufacturers.
Experience assessing CM capability, production readiness, supplier development, and performance management.
Structured problem-solving utilizing 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone Analysis, FMEA, and data-driven decision making.
Strong quality mindset with knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FAI, SPC, Control Plans, process validation, and risk management.
Business acumen to balance quality, cost, delivery, capacity, and risk considerations.
Strong ownership, accountability, change management capability, and continuous improvement mindset.
