Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for CNC-related materials, components, and services (e.g., raw materials, tooling, machining parts, subcontracting).
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers locally and globally.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure long-term partnerships.
- Drive supplier localization initiatives to support Malaysia operations.
Cost Management & Negotiation
- Lead price negotiations, cost reduction initiatives, and contract management.
- Conduct cost analysis (should-cost, benchmarking) to ensure competitive pricing.
- Deliver annual cost savings and productivity improvement targets.
Supply Chain & Risk Management
- Ensure uninterrupted supply to support production schedules and ramp-up plans.
- Identify supply risks and implement mitigation strategies (dual sourcing, safety stock, etc.).
- Monitor market trends, material pricing, and supply risks.
Supplier Performance & Quality
- Establish supplier KPIs (quality, delivery, cost, responsiveness).
- Work closely with Quality and Engineering teams on supplier qualification and audits.
- Drive supplier improvement plans for underperforming suppliers.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Planning teams to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
- Support NPI (New Product Introduction) projects by sourcing new materials and suppliers.
- Ensure alignment with global procurement strategies if applicable.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical sourcing standards, and Malaysian regulations.
- Manage contracts, documentation, and procurement processes in line with internal controls.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of sourcing/procurement experience, preferably in CNC machining, precision engineering, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience in Malaysia manufacturing setup or plant ramp-up is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Good understanding of CNC processes, machining materials (e.g., aluminum, stainless steel), and tooling.
- Cost analysis and strategic sourcing expertise.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ramp-up environment.
Other Requirements
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Fluent in English; Mandarin is an added advantage (for China supplier interaction).
- Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
