Job Overview

We are looking for an Application Support Engineer to support and maintain business-critical applications, ensuring system availability, performance, and reliability. The role will involve troubleshooting production issues, performing root cause analysis, supporting application changes, and working closely with development and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and support enterprise applications to ensure availability and performance.
• Investigate and resolve application incidents, problems, and service requests within agreed SLAs.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement solutions to prevent recurring issues.
• Collaborate with development teams on bug fixes, enhancements, and deployments.
• Manage application configurations, patches, and upgrades across production and non-production environments.
• Support application releases, testing, and deployment activities.
• Troubleshoot database, application, and integration-related issues.
• Document troubleshooting procedures, technical solutions, and support processes.
• Follow security, compliance, and operational standards during application maintenance.
• Participate in incident management and on-call support for critical production issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in application support, production support, or a similar technical role.
• Strong understanding of application architecture and support methodologies.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases such as Oracle or MySQL.
• Experience working with Linux/Unix environments and scripting using Shell, Python, or similar.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
• Knowledge of Java/.NET applications and middleware technologies.
• Understanding of API integrations and web services.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum or Kanban environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with development, infrastructure, and other cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting business-critical or high-availability applications.
• Exposure to application monitoring and logging tools.
• Experience with production deployments and release management.
• Knowledge of cloud environments is an advantage.
