Math and Science assistant

The personnel is expected to:

1. Prepare Science apparatus for experiments and Mathematicsmanipulatives for lessons.

2. Keep Science apparatus and Mathematics manipulatives afterlessons.

3. Assist the HOD/Science and HOD/Mathematics to develop a stocklist for stocktaking, do stock taking of both Science apparatus and MathematicsManipulatives and maintain the stock list after yearly stock taking.

4. Organise the return and collection of Math and Sciencedeskcopies by teachers on an annual basis.

5. Pack the Math and Science resources neatly in Math cupboardsand in the Science laboratories respectively.

6. Perform simple, non-technical repairs and minor maintenanceof equipment, teaching aids and manipulatives where appropriate (e.g.,reattaching loose parts, tightening fittings, replacing simple components andrepairing storage/resource materials).

7. Work with teachers to create simple manipulatives and/or anyother materials as required in support of the Math and Science Departmentsprogrammes.

8. Support the Math and Science Departments in preparation forrecess activities.

9. Support photo-taking for Math and Science programmes,activities and the development of teaching and learning resources.

10. Work with teachers to take simple Math and/or Scienceteaching videos for use as teaching and learning resources.

11.Provide administrative support as deployed by the school.

The Personnel should:

• Preferably has experience working in a school environment inparticular, providing Science and Mathematics related support.

• Proficient in English Language, including listening,understanding, speaking, reading and writing.

• Able to use basic MS Office such as Word, Excel andPowerPoint.

• Able to work and achieve work goals independently, whilepro-actively seeking clarification when needed.
