Inspect construction sites to identify and eliminate safety hazards while leading and instructing construction teams and subcontractors. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications to drive safe, efficient, and budget-conscious construction operations.

Responsibilities

Inspect construction sites regularly to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards, ensuring a safe working environment

Lead and supervise construction teams and subcontractors to maintain high standards of safety and operational efficiency

Educate site workers on construction safety regulations and accident protocols to promote compliance and reduce incidents

Enforce site safety rules consistently to minimize work-related accidents and injuries

Manage site accident responses in accordance with established protocols to ensure proper handling and reporting

Maintain accurate attendance records for construction employees to support workforce management

Evaluate employee performance and implement disciplinary measures to uphold team accountability and productivity

Analyze blueprints to verify that construction projects comply with design, safety, and budget specifications

Recommend operational or procedural changes to improve construction efficiency and safety outcomes

Required competencies and certifications

Completion of a post-secondary education construction training program

Proven experience working as a site supervisor

CPR and first aid certifications

Sound knowledge of building codes and construction safety regulations

Working knowledge of construction tools and equipment

Ability to interpret blueprints

Preferred competencies and qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction science, civil engineering, or a related field

Strong leadership skills demonstrated through team supervision and project oversight

Analytical and problem-solving skills applied to construction challenges and safety compliance

Organizational and communication skills to coordinate teams and report effectively
