The Architecture Intern role provides students and recent graduates with hands-on exposure to architectural design and project delivery under the guidance of experienced architects and designers. The intern will support various stages of Consultancy and Design & Build projects, from concept development and design documentation to site coordination and construction administration. This position offers valuable experience working alongside architects, interior designers, consultants, and contractors in a professional design studio environment.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist with architectural design development for Consultancy and Design & Build projects.
- Support the preparation of architectural drawings, plans, elevations, sections, details, and project documentation.
- Assist Senior Architects/Designers with concept development, presentations, material selection, and design documentation.
- Participate in site visits, field surveys, measurements, and site inspections as required.
- Assist in coordinating with consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Help maintain project files, drawings, submissions, and other relevant documentation.
- Support preparation of presentation materials, reports, and project updates.
- Gain exposure to construction processes, site coordination, and project administration.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma/Degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of architectural design, space planning, and construction principles.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite; Revit knowledge is an advantage.
- Good communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Creative, detail-oriented, proactive, and willing to learn.
- Basic understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction standards is an advantage.
- Language communication: English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Has own work tools such as a laptop.
- Willing to travel to construction sites; own transportation is an advantage.
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 9AM–6PM; may be required to work some weekends depending on project/site requirements.
- Amenable to work in Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur.
