Network Engineer (Data Center & Field Support) – 2 Openings | Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

   We’re hiring a hands-on Network Engineer to support data center and field operations primarily in Malaysia. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys on-site work—racking equipment, structured cabling, and providing Remote Hands support under the guidance of NOC and remote technical teams.

•   What you’ll do:

1. Rack/un-rack, install, and make basic connections for servers, switches, routers, firewalls, and other equipment
2. Perform structured cabling at data centers, POP sites, and customer premises—Ethernet, fiber, patch cords, labeling, and link checks
3. Provide Remote Hands support: reboots, cable plug/unplug, port checks, module replacement, and status confirmation
4. Assist with on-site deployment of servers, GPU servers, and network equipment
5. Carry out daily inspections of data center and POP site equipment
6. Support remote teams with basic troubleshooting and timely on-site reporting
7. Provide onsite technical support to customers and support projects in Malaysia
8. Maintain records of equipment, cabling, ports, and on-site implementation information

•    Who you are:

1. Background in computer science, IT, networking, telecommunications, or a related technical field
2. Hands-on experience in racking/un-racking servers, switches, and routers, and in data center on-site implementation
3. Basic structured cabling skills; familiar with Ethernet, fiber, patch cords, and optical modules
4. Basic understanding of switches, routers, firewalls, and servers; advanced network configuration is not required
5. Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, IP addresses, gateways, Ping)
6. Basic Linux knowledge or familiarity with common commands
7. Good hands-on ability; able to independently complete racking/unracking, cabling, cable dressing, and module/equipment replacement
8. Able to follow remote instructions accurately and provide timely feedback
9. Fluent in spoken and written English and Mandarin (Mandarin required for regular liaison with company stakeholders)
10. Based in Kuala Lumpur and willing to travel occasionally to Singapore for company matters
11. Responsible, detail-oriented, and a strong team player
12. Experience in data centers, IDC, resident machine-room support, structured cabling, or IT field support is preferred
