Summary:

The objective of this project is to streamline the Exploration process to support the client’s Upstream organization (based in Southeast Asia), in achieving its ambitious targets to shorten the Exploration cycle and reduce CAPEX.

There are two specific areas of focus:

1. Volume certainty: Identify how to reduce the volume gap between Exploration and Development and, where differences remain, enable faster decision-making despite volume uncertainty.
2. Assurance: Identify opportunities to streamline deliverables and assurance requirements.

Ideal Expert Summary:

Contractor role on project:

1. Review the as-is Exploration process, from block acquisition through opportunity maturation, and identify opportunities to streamline the process and improve its efficiency and effectiveness.
2. Review the existing assurance requirements and deliverables and identify opportunities to reduce the number of assurance requirements and deliverables and/or associated workload (e.g., where deliverables can be waived, simplified, or made optional), including reduce the size of committee.
3. Help sharpen the design of the cross-functional team spanning Exploration through Development, including how it will operate in practice.
4. Participate in client meetings, share relevant perspectives, and respond to questions.
5. Serve as the technical point of contact for the project team, providing technical expertise and answering industry / functional questions related to Upstream Exploration as needed
