The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the hospital. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and managing financial operations: This involves budgeting, forecasting, auditing, and internal control systems.
- Developing financial strategies: This includes forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements, identifying monetary resources, and developing action plans.
- Monitoring financial performance: This involves measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
- Ensuring compliance: This includes studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Preparing financial reports: This involves collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Managing relationships with insurance providers: This includes negotiating contracts and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to assess business performance, allocate resources, and develop policies.
