Math or Science Teacher | 4-Day Work Week

Salary: $4,000–$5,000/month + Paid Additional Teaching
Location: Yishun

At Genie Education Hub, our full-time teachers work a 4-day work week with a maximum of 20 scheduled teaching hours per week.

Classes are kept small at 10 students or fewer, and teaching materials are provided so you can focus on understanding your students, explaining concepts clearly and helping them improve.

We are hiring a Math OR Science Teacher for our Yishun centre.

You do not need to teach both subjects. Classes will be assigned according to your subject strengths and experience.

Fresh graduates with strong subject knowledge are welcome to apply.

What You’ll Teach

You will teach either Mathematics or Science, depending on your specialisation.

Mathematics

• Primary Mathematics
• Lower Secondary Mathematics
• E-Math
• A-Math

Science

• Primary Science
• Lower Secondary Science
• Chemistry
• Physics
• Biology

You do not need to be equally strong across every level or topic.

We are especially interested in candidates with strong backgrounds in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics or Biology.

What You’ll Do

Your main responsibility is to help students understand concepts better and become more confident learners.

Your role includes:

• Conducting engaging Math or Science lessons
• Explaining difficult concepts clearly and simply
• Identifying gaps in students’ understanding
• Helping students improve problem-solving and answering techniques
• Preparing lessons using our teaching materials and resources
• Marking assigned work and providing useful feedback
• Monitoring student progress
• Communicating important learning updates to parents when needed
• Adapting your teaching when students struggle
• Contributing ideas to improve our worksheets, notes and teaching methods

Who We’re Looking For

We care more about your ability and potential to teach well than simply the number of years on your résumé.

You should:

• Have strong Math OR Science subject knowledge
• Be able to explain concepts clearly
• Communicate well with students
• Be responsible and reliable
• Take ownership of your classes
• Be receptive to feedback
• Care about whether students genuinely understand
• Be comfortable working independently

A relevant degree is preferred.

Teaching or tutoring experience is an advantage, but not compulsory for strong fresh graduates.

Training and guidance will be provided where needed.

Working Schedule

This is a full-time, 4-day work week position based at our Yishun centre.

Teachers generally work:

• 3 weekdays
• 1 weekend day

Classes take place mainly during after-school hours on weekdays and during the day on weekends.

Your scheduled classroom teaching load will be capped at 20 hours per week.

Additional teaching beyond the standard workload will be compensated separately.

Non-teaching time is used for lesson preparation, marking, student follow-up and curriculum work.

Salary & Progression

$4,000–$5,000 per month, depending on experience, subject capability and teaching ability.

Additional teaching is compensated separately.

Strong performers will have opportunities to take on greater teaching, curriculum or leadership responsibilities as Genie grows.
