About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, proactive and forward-thinking Operations and Transformation Manager to lead operational excellence, transformation and innovation initiatives within the Delivery Platform across multiple service lines.
This is a newly created role suited to a professional services leader who is passionate about improving how services are delivered. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day operations for assigned Delivery Platform teams, including both audit and non-audit service lines, lead continuous improvement initiatives, identify opportunities to leverage technology and AI, manage and develop a growing team, and work closely with regional stakeholders to build a high-performing, scalable and future-ready delivery function.
The role requires someone who is comfortable operating in a dynamic and evolving environment, able to work with ambiguity, take ownership without waiting for direction, and continuously identify opportunities to improve processes, people performance and service delivery across service lines.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
- Lead the day-to-day operations of assigned Delivery Platform teams comprising approximately 20 to 30 professionals across audit and non-audit service lines.
- Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to team members who may not have a dedicated local manager.
- Monitor operational performance, workload distribution, capacity planning and resource allocation across assigned teams.
- Identify operational risks, bottlenecks and service delivery challenges, and implement practical, sustainable solutions.
- Establish clear operating rhythms, performance expectations and accountability mechanisms across the Delivery Platform.
- Support consistent, high-quality delivery of work in line with service line requirements, agreed timelines and stakeholder expectations.
Transformation & Continuous Improvement
- Lead transformation and process improvement initiatives to enhance operations and service delivery across the Delivery Platform.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce inefficiencies and improve productivity across audit and non-audit service lines.
- Drive innovation through the practical adoption of automation, digital tools and AI-enabled solutions.
- Research emerging technologies and recommend relevant use cases for service delivery and operational improvement.
- Support change management activities, including stakeholder engagement, communication, adoption tracking and benefits realization.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation and operational discipline across teams.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with regional Partners, Directors, Managers and business stakeholders across relevant service lines.
- Act as a key point of contact for operational matters relating to assigned Delivery Platform teams.
- Gather stakeholder feedback regularly, identify recurring service delivery issues and coordinate timely resolution.
- Collaborate across countries, functions and service lines to promote consistent ways of working and service standards.
- Provide regular updates on operational performance, transformation progress, risks and improvement opportunities.
People Leadership & Performance Management
- Coach, mentor and develop team members to strengthen technical capability, operational discipline and professional growth.
- Manage team performance by setting clear expectations, monitoring progress and providing timely feedback.
- Conduct regular performance conversations, identify development needs and support individual growth plans.
- Address performance gaps constructively and implement improvement actions where required.
- Promote accountability, ownership, collaboration and continuous learning.
- Foster an inclusive, high-performance team culture aligned with the firm’s values, quality expectations and delivery standards.
- Support formal performance management processes, including goal setting, mid-year and year-end reviews, calibration input and recognition of strong performance.
Service Line Relevance & Portfolio Ownership
- Manage selected portfolios, workstreams or client engagements when required to maintain service line relevance and practical delivery insight.
- Apply hands-on professional services experience to identify opportunities for process improvement, quality enhancement and better service delivery.
- Stay current with relevant service line developments, standards, regulations, industry trends and market expectations.
- Translate technical, operational and industry insights into practical recommendations for service delivery improvement.
Innovation & AI
- Research AI, automation and digital solutions relevant to both audit and non-audit service lines within the Delivery Platform.
- Partner with regional leaders to pilot new technologies and assess their practicality, scalability and impact across service lines.
- Encourage innovative thinking within teams and support the adoption of new tools and ways of working.
- Identify opportunities to use data, analytics and AI to improve planning, execution, monitoring, reporting and quality of service delivery.
- Help build awareness and confidence among team members in using technology responsibly and effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent is preferred.
- Approximately 7 to 8 years of external audit experience, preferably within a Big Four or professional services environment.
- Strong practical understanding of audit delivery, audit quality expectations, engagement workflows and stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated experience managing teams, coaching professionals and driving performance.
- Experience in performance management, including goal setting, feedback, performance reviews and development planning.
- Strong stakeholder management experience, ideally across regional, cross-border or multi-service-line environments.
- Experience in transformation, project management, process improvement, automation, digital tools or AI initiatives is advantageous, but not mandatory.
- Strong curiosity and willingness to independently research transformation, innovation, automation and AI opportunities relevant to service delivery.
- Keen interest in learning new technologies and translating research into practical improvement ideas.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to operate independently, manage ambiguity and drive initiatives from concept through implementation.
