 Data Engineer / SSRS Developer

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Salary: RM 4,000 – RM 6,000

Work Arrangement: On-site/Hybrid depending on business requirements

Role Overview

We are looking for a Reporting-focused Data Engineer / SSRS Developer with strong hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, and SSIS. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining business and regulatory reports, supporting production reporting environments, and ensuring reliable ETL and system integration processes.

The ideal candidate should have strong SSRS development skills, solid T-SQL/MSSQL knowledge, and practical experience with SSIS, SQL Server Agent, PowerShell, SFTP/SSH, and PGP/GPG encryption.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance SSRS reports and paginated reports.
• Create parameterized reports, subscriptions, and scheduled reports.
• Develop and maintain datasets and data sources.
• Troubleshoot reporting issues in production environments.
• Optimize report and query performance.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into reporting solutions.
• Develop and maintain T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
• Support SQL Server Agent jobs and scheduled processes.
• Develop, deploy, schedule, and troubleshoot SSIS ETL packages.
• Support data migration, transformation, reconciliation, and batch processing.
• Support file-based integrations using SSH/SFTP.
• Work with PGP/GPG encryption and decryption for secure file transfers.
• Develop automation scripts using PowerShell and Python.
• Provide production support and resolve incidents within agreed timelines.
• Ensure report accuracy, data integrity, and stable ETL processe

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or related field.
2. 3–5+ years of professional experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
3. Strong hands-on SSRS development experience.
4. Experience developing and maintaining paginated and parameterized reports.
5. Experience supporting production reporting environments.
6. Strong T-SQL and stored procedure experience.
7. Hands-on experience with SSIS / ETL development.
8. Experience with SQL Server Agent and scheduling/automation.
9. Experience troubleshooting SQL/reporting/ETL issues in production.
