Salling Search is searching for a Handysize Broker for a growing dry bulk shipbroking firm based in Singapore. This is a chance to join an active desk covering the Handysize segment, with strong deal flow and room to build out your own client base.

Responsibilities

• Source and negotiate Handysize dry bulk chartering fixtures between shipowners and charterers to secure profitable deals
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, charterers, and brokers to expand business opportunities
• Track freight rates, vessel positions, and cargo availability to identify and capitalize on chartering opportunities
• Prepare fixture recaps, charter party terms, and related documentation to ensure accurate contract execution
• Coordinate with operations teams post-fixture to facilitate smooth handover and operational efficiency
• Monitor market developments continuously and provide timely updates to clients to support informed decision-making

Requirements

• Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience as a dry bulk broker, preferably within the Handysize segment
• Established network of shipowner and charterer contacts to facilitate deal-making
• Strong understanding of charter party terms and freight market dynamics to negotiate effectively
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to build trust and close deals
• Diploma or degree in Maritime Studies, Business or a related field is preferred
