MR. ROBOT specialises in developing intelligent robotics and automation systems that enhance operational performance in retail, logistics, and commercial environments. By combining advanced AI, robotics engineering, and system integration, we deliver practical, scalable solutions that help businesses innovate operational workflows and prepare for tomorrow’s automation demands.
Focused on real-world deployment rather than prototypes, Mr. Robot’s offerings are designed to integrate seamlessly with existing systems-bringing robotics out of the lab and into productive use.
Driving Southeast Asia’s automation revolution with AI robotics for partners, integrators, and industries ready to scale.
The Robotics Integration Engineer is responsible for supporting the deployment, integration, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of humanoid robot systems across manufacturing, logistics, and retail environments. Working under the guidance of the Senior Robotics Integration Engineer, this role focuses on ensuring robots are successfully deployed, configured, and operating reliably in real-world environments.
In MR. ROBOT's fast-moving environment, the Junior Robotics Integration Engineer supports project deployment and secondary development around core VLA and perception models, helping take deployed robots from 'works in the demo' to 'work reliably in the field'
Job Responsibilities:
Robotics Deployment & Integration
- Support the deployment, implementation, testing, and commissioning of robotics systems across customer sites and operational environments.
- Configure and integrate robotics hardware, software, sensors, networking, and supporting infrastructure.
- Ensure robots operate reliably in real-world deployment environments.
Edge-Case Handling & Recovery Logic
- Identify failure modes in deployed manipulation and perception pipelines, including missed grasps, misaligned placements, and misclassified object states.
- Build compensatory logic, including retries, fallback heuristics, and state-machine recovery behaviours, to improve end-to-end task success rates across different application domains.
Orchestration & Secondary Development
- Work within orchestrators coordinating pick-and-place VLA modules, home-pose synchronization, and hard-coded recovery flows when model outputs are unreliable.
- Support customization of recovery logic and edge-case handling as the same core robotics platform is deployed into different industries and task requirements.
Perception Robustness & System Reliability
- Debug and improve perception components, including object and stock classification, OCR/label reading, and object detection.
- Enhance system robustness against real-world variations such as lighting conditions, occlusion, and product diversity across deployment sites.
System Testing & Field Support
- Work with ROS2/AimRT on Jetson Orin AGX/Thor, including joint state monitoring, force/torque sensing, trajectory execution, and safety interlocks.
- Diagnose deployment issues directly on customer sites, including latency, joint ordering, network communication faults, and sensor drift.
- Contribute to robot-client/server telemetry to ensure failure patterns are logged and traceable for root cause analysis.
- Provide on-site technical support during deployment, testing, commissioning, and implementation activities.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the Senior Robotics Integration Engineer, Robotics Engineering, AI, and Operations teams throughout deployment activities.
- Support continuous improvement of deployment reliability through debugging, testing, and field feedback.
- Adapt robotics solutions across manufacturing, logistics, retail, and other deployment environments.
- Share field findings to improve robot performance, deployment processes, and future product development.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in robotics, automation, system integration, or related technical roles.
- Proficiency in Python and/or C++.
- Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 concepts (nodes, topics, services). Coursework or project experience is acceptable.
- Practical, debugging-first mindset with the ability to diagnose why robots fail in specific deployment scenarios.
- Basic understanding of state machines, control loops, or robot kinematics.
- Comfortable working with Linux environments and Docker.
- Adaptable and comfortable working across different deployment contexts and industries.
- Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Exposure to computer vision, OCR pipelines, or classical control (impedance/force control) is an added advantage.
- Background in game AI or behaviour trees is an added advantage for orchestrator and recovery logic development.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and support field deployments when required.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in AI or robotics is highly desirable..
