We are looking for an
IT Infrastructure & Security Systems Support Technician
to support the maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of servers, network equipment and security systems.
The role will initially focus on video surveillance servers, video management software, network-connected cameras and related infrastructure. The successful candidate may also progressively support other security systems, such as access control, alarms, intercoms, remote gates and barriers.
This is a hands-on technical position suitable for candidates who are willing to learn and develop their technical skills in a managed-service environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, test, and deploy Windows Server security patches and updates.
Schedule maintenance windows with users, application owners, and other stakeholders.
Perform controlled server shutdowns and restarts for patching and upgrades.
Conduct pre-maintenance checks, including backups, system health, disk capacity, and service dependencies.
Verify server, application, database, network, and scheduled-service availability after updates.
Monitor server performance, capacity, security alerts, and event logs.
Troubleshoot failed patches, startup problems, and service disruptions; perform rollback or recovery when required.
Maintain patch records, server inventories, maintenance reports, and technical documentation.
Follow change-management, cybersecurity, backup, disaster-recovery, and escalation procedures.
Maintain video surveillance systems, VMS, recording servers, NVRs, IP cameras and related security devices.
Troubleshoot connectivity, recording, playback, storage, access and system performance issues, and escalate complex issues to senior engineers, vendors or supervisors.
Provide on-call or after-hours support during planned maintenance and critical incidents
Job Requirements
Nitec, Higher Nitec or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
Knowledge of Windows operating systems, server environments and computer networking including TCP/IP, IP addressing, switches, routers, DNS, DHCP and VLANs.
Knowledge of video surveillance, CCTV, IP cameras, network video recorders or video management software would be advantageous.
Able to follow technical procedures and conduct structured testing before deploying system changes.
Comfortable performing hands-on troubleshooting of hardware, software, servers and network connectivity.
Good problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.
Willing to learn new systems, equipment and technologies.
Able to work independently on routine tasks and escalate more complex issues when required.
May occasionally be required to perform scheduled maintenance outside normal office hours, including weekends or public holidays.
