Job Summary

Prepare authentic Japanese cuisine and lead kitchen operations to deliver quality menu offerings. Manage kitchen processes, inventory, and staff development to ensure operational efficiency and food safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare authentic Japanese cuisine to meet menu standards and customer expectations
• Lead and coordinate the kitchen team to execute menu items accurately and efficiently
• Supervise kitchen stations to ensure adherence to cooking processes, recipes, and health & safety standards
• Conduct final quality checks on finished dishes to ensure presentation and taste meet specifications
• Manage kitchen inventory by ordering food and supplies based on projected demand and usage reports
• Verify quality of delivered supplies and maintain optimal stock levels considering sales patterns and storage capacity
• Oversee kitchen workflow and station setup/cleaning to maintain operational efficiency and hygiene
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to food quality promptly and effectively
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and guidelines in kitchen operations
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitary conditions, ensuring all equipment is functional and safe
• Take corrective actions to address unsafe or non-compliant behaviors related to personal and food safety
• Lead, motivate, and support kitchen staff through training, induction, and ongoing development
• Conduct team management activities including appraisals, disciplinary actions, and communication sessions in collaboration with supervisors
• Develop personal improvement plans for team members to enhance skills and performance

Required competencies and certifications

• Proficiency in Japanese language to communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and business partners
