About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team at our San Po Kong location in Wong Tai Sin District. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in managing the financial health and integrity of Chaaya Group HK Limited. As Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and providing financial insights that support strategic business decisions. This role is essential to our operational success and directly contributes to the company's growth and stability.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, journals, and financial statements
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring timely payment and collection
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Support tax compliance activities and ensure adherence to Hong Kong tax regulations
• Monitor and maintain accounting records in accordance with Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards (HKFRS)
• Conduct regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
• Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information and comply with data protection requirements

What we're looking for

• A recognised accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent accounting diploma
• Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong knowledge of Hong Kong accounting principles and tax regulations
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
• Preferred experience in the education sector or non-profit organisations would be advantageous
