Role Overview
We are seeking an experiencedData Analyst – Management Accountingwith strong banking-domain expertise to support the analysis, design, and delivery of Management Accounting data and reporting solutions.
The successful candidate will have5+ years of Management Accounting experience within banking or financial services, with strong knowledge ofP&L, cost allocation, Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), General Ledger (GL), Chart of Accounts, and management reporting.
This role goes beyond technical data querying. The candidate will work closely with Finance, Management Accounting, technology teams, data architects, and data modellers to understand business processes, identify data requirements, translate Finance concepts into logical data structures, and support reliable reporting solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesManagement Accounting & Banking Domain Analysis
- Act as a Management Accounting SME for banking Finance and data initiatives.
- Analyze processes covering:
- P&L and profitability reporting
- Revenue and expense attribution
- Cost allocation and cost centre structures
- Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP)
- GL and Chart of Accounts structures
- Product, customer, business unit, legal entity, and organizational hierarchies
- Management reporting and financial performance analysis
- Understand financial transaction flows from source systems through GL, Finance data platforms, allocation processes, FTP engines, and reporting layers.
- Analyze existing processes, controls, data flows, calculations, and reporting logic to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
Business & Data Requirements
- Engage Finance and business stakeholders to understand reporting, analytical, and data requirements.
- Conduct workshops and interviews to capture business, functional, data, calculation, allocation, and reporting requirements.
- Translate Management Accounting concepts into requirements that can be implemented by technology and data teams.
- Definesource-to-target mappings, transformation rules, business definitions, and data lineage.
- Support business glossaries, data dictionaries, and canonical Finance data definitions.
- Identify required data attributes, dimensions, measures, hierarchies, and relationships.
Data Modelling & Solution Design
- Work with data modellers, architects, engineers, and solution designers to convert business requirements into appropriate data models.
- Review conceptual, logical, and physical data models from a Management Accounting perspective.
- Validate that models correctly represent:
- Accounts and cost/profit centres
- Products and customers
- Legal entities and business units
- P&L measures
- Allocation drivers
- FTP components
- Resolve complex relationships between transactional, accounting, reference, and reporting data.
- Ensure data structures support detailed analysis and aggregated Management Accounting reporting.
Data Analysis & Validation
- UseSQLto analyze financial datasets, perform reconciliations, investigate data issues, and validate business rules.
- Perform data profiling and identify quality, completeness, consistency, and reconciliation issues.
- Reconcile Management Accounting data across source systems, GL, Finance platforms, and downstream reports.
- Investigate P&L, allocation, FTP, and reporting variances and determine root causes.
- Define validation and reconciliation rules for new and existing data pipelines.
Management Accounting Reporting
- Support the design, enhancement, and rationalization of Management Accounting reporting suites.
- Analyze reports to identify common measures, dimensions, calculations, and business logic.
- Define requirements for:
- P&L and business performance reporting
- Product and customer profitability
- Cost and expense analysis
- FTP reporting
- Variance analysis
- Management dashboards
- Ensure reporting outputs reconcile with approved Finance and GL sources.
- Support migration from legacy reports to strategic data and reporting platforms.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the bridge between Finance stakeholders and technology/data teams.
- Communicate complex Finance concepts in a way that engineers, modellers, and developers can implement.
- Explain technical data issues and solution options clearly to Finance stakeholders.
- Facilitate requirements, design, and data-model walkthroughs.
- Challenge requirements constructively and distinguish genuine business needs from legacy-system limitations.
- Support testing, UAT, implementation, and post-production validation.
Required Experience & Skills
- 5+ years of relevant Management Accounting experiencewithin banking or financial services.
- Strong practical knowledge of:

- AdvancedMicrosoft Excelskills, including complex formulas, PivotTables, reconciliation models, and large-dataset analysis.
- Experience defining source-to-target mappings, business rules, transformations, data dictionaries, data lineage, and reporting specifications.
- Experience with complex Finance and Management Accounting reporting suites.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working within a large international or regional bank.
- Experience with Finance transformation, data platforms, data warehouses, or regulatory/management reporting programmes.
- Familiarity with dimensional, relational, and enterprise Finance data models.
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata, and lineage.
- Experience supporting Finance data migration or legacy reporting rationalization.
- Exposure toPower BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar BI platforms.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
