Job Summary

The Logistics Manager plans, coordinates, and manages supply chain, distribution, transportation, and warehouse operations to ensure efficient, accurate, and cost-effective handling of goods while maintaining high standards of inventory control, safety, and customer service.

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee daily warehouse, logistics, supply, and distribution operations to ensure seamless workflow and timely delivery

Plan and coordinate receiving, storage, picking, packing, and delivery of goods to optimize operational efficiency

Maintain accurate inventory levels by managing stock records, stock movements, and conducting regular stock counts

Coordinate with suppliers, customers, transport providers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods

Develop and implement delivery schedules, transportation routes, and distribution activities to optimize cost and efficiency

Monitor warehouse space utilization and enforce proper storage, handling, and identification of goods

Supervise warehouse and logistics staff by allocating duties and monitoring work performance to meet operational goals

Develop and implement effective procedures for inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and distribution to enhance productivity

Monitor logistics costs, delivery performance, and operational efficiency; identify and implement cost-saving opportunities

Ensure all incoming and outgoing goods are documented with delivery orders, invoices, and relevant records for audit and tracking

Investigate and resolve delivery delays, stock discrepancies, damaged goods, and other logistics-related issues promptly

Liaise with suppliers and transport companies to coordinate shipment and delivery arrangements efficiently

Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards, warehouse procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements

Prepare detailed logistics, inventory, and warehouse reports for management review and decision-making

Support management in forecasting inventory requirements and planning procurement and distribution activities

Maintain accurate records of warehouse transactions, inventory movements, and logistics documentation

Continuously review and improve supply chain and warehouse processes to enhance productivity and service levels

Required competencies and certifications

Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehousing, Business Administration, or related discipline

Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, distribution, or warehouse management

Proven experience managing warehouse operations, inventory control, and distribution activities

Strong knowledge of logistics planning, transportation coordination, and warehouse processes

Good understanding of inventory management, stock reconciliation, and warehouse documentation

Experience supervising and managing warehouse/logistics personnel

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with warehouse/inventory management or ERP systems

Knowledge of workplace safety and relevant logistics/warehouse procedures

Preferred competencies and qualifications

Strong organisational, coordination, and problem-solving skills demonstrated in logistics operations

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with suppliers, customers, transport providers, and internal teams

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet operational deadlines

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory and logistics records

Ability to analyse logistics costs, inventory data, and operational performance

Willingness to work in a fast-paced operational environment and respond to urgent logistics requirements when necessary
