About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Malaysia and support the delivery of Data Centre projects. The role will be responsible for electrical engineering, project coordination and on-site technical support, ensuring that electrical systems are delivered safely, reliably and in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the planning, design, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical systems for data centre projects.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, technical documents and project requirements.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor electrical installation works on site and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality and safety requirements.
• Support the testing and commissioning of electrical systems, including LV/MV systems, UPS, generators, switchboards, power distribution and related equipment.
• Identify and resolve technical issues during construction and commissioning.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor project progress, quality and technical compliance.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, inspection records and other project documentation.
• Support project handover and ensure that relevant testing, commissioning and as-built documentation is completed.
• Ensure all electrical works comply with applicable Malaysian regulations, codes, standards and project requirements.
• Work closely with project managers and other engineering disciplines to achieve project milestones and delivery targets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably in data centres, critical facilities, commercial buildings or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience with electrical systems such as UPS, generators, MV/LV switchgear, transformers, power distribution and electrical protection systems.
• Familiarity with electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, testing and commissioning procedures.
• Good understanding of project execution, site coordination and contractor management.
• Knowledge of relevant Malaysian electrical codes, standards and safety requirements is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work on-site and travel when required.
• Good command of English; Mandarin is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on data centre projects or other mission-critical facilities.
• Experience with MEP coordination and integrated testing & commissioning (IST).
• Experience working with international consultants, contractors or clients.
• Relevant professional certification or registration in Malaysia is an advantage.
