Responsibilities

Guest Service & Front of House

• Welcome guests, take and deliver orders accurately, and handle simple payments at the counter or POS system.
• Keep service areas tidy between customers and restock cutlery, condiments, and napkins as needed.
• Address basic customer concerns politely and escalate pantry or managerial issues when required.
• Assist with packing takeaway orders and preparing items for delivery partners during busy periods.

Kitchen & Food Preparation

• Prepare simple menu items according to standard recipes and portion guidelines to maintain consistency.
• Support cooks by chopping vegetables, arranging ingredients, and doing basic frying or assembly tasks under supervision.
• Label and store prepped food correctly and conduct routine stock checks to reduce waste.
• Help plate dishes and ensure orders match customer tickets before they leave the kitchen.

Safety, Cleanliness & Backline Support

• Follow food safety and hygiene rules at all times, including proper handwashing and workstation cleaning.
• Wash dishes, sanitise surfaces, and take out waste to keep the kitchen and dining areas safe and efficient.
• Perform opening and closing duties like equipment checks, temperature logs, and simple inventory counts.
• Participate in short team briefings and handovers to keep shifts coordinated and minimise mistakes.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• No formal experience required, we welcome fresh graduates and first-time job seekers who are eager to learn.
• Basic numeracy for handling payments and counting change is expected.
• Flexible availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays is preferred.
• Previous part-time or volunteer service experience is a plus but not required.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

• Basic food handling and safe storage knowledge, and willingness to be trained on HACCP principles.
• Familiarity with simple kitchen tools and basic knife handling under supervision.
• Comfortable using a POS terminal or cash register after brief training.
• Ability to follow written recipes and standard operating procedures accurately.

Soft Skills & Qualities

• Friendly and patient customer approach with clear verbal communication.
• Team-oriented attitude with the ability to take direction and support others during peak shifts.
• Good physical stamina to stand for long periods and move between front and back of house.
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn in a fast-moving, hands-on environment.
