KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Engineering Design & Technical Duties

• Undertake technical studies, feasibility assessments and engineering analysis.

• Perform structural calculations and design in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and statutory requirements.

• Prepare and review engineering drawings, calculations, and technical reports.

• Resolve design and construction-related technical issues.

2. Project & Site Supervision

• Conduct periodic site inspections and supervision to ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.

• Monitor construction progress and report issues related to quality, safety, delays, or non-conformance.

• Assist in supervision of testing, inspection and commissioning activities.

• Conduct safety and risk briefing prior to site visits.

3. Contract Administration Support

• Assist Project Manager in evaluating Contractor’s progress claims, variation orders (VO), extension of time (EOT), defects and final accounts.

• Prepare site records, inspection reports, and progress updates.

4. Local Authority (PBT) Submission

• Prepare drawings, calculations, reports, and supporting documents for submission to Local Authorities.

• Coordinate with Project Manager and other disciplines during submission and approval stages.

• Respond to authority comments and assist in amendment of documents under Principal’s/ Project Manager direction.

• Ensure all submissions are endorsed by the Principal (PE with valid BEM PEPC) prior to submission.

5. Supervision of Draughtsperson

• Provide technical guidance and supervision to Draughtsperson(s) in preparation of 2D drawings.

• Review, check and comment on drawings to ensure compliance with design intent and standards.

• Ensure draughting works are completed accurately and within agreed timelines.

6. ISO & Compliance

• Maintain project records, drawings registers, reports, and correspondence in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 Clause 7.5

• Comply with company SOPs, quality objectives and document control procedures.

7. General

• Attend project, technical, and coordination meetings as required.

• Maintain professional conduct and effective communication with clients, authorities, contractors, and colleagues.

• Perform any other duties as directed by the Project Manager or Principal.

8. AUTHORITY & LIMITATION OF AUTHORITY

1- Authority

• Review and approve internal technical work and recommendations.

• Supervise Assistant C&S Engineer and Draughtsperson for assigned projects.

• Provide technical input and advice to Project Manager.

2- Limitation of Authority

• No authority to endorse, certify or submit documents to Local Authorities independently without Principal (PE) endorsement and/or approval.

• No authority to commit the company contractually or issue instructions to contractors without approval.

• All statutory submissions and certifications must be endorsed by the Principal (PE with BEM PEPC)

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering recognized by BEM.

• Preferable minimum 2 years relevant experience. Fresh graduate also encourage to apply.

• Knowledge of Malaysian standards, UBBL, Eurocode and PBT requirements.

• Ability to interpret drawings, have basic engineering calculations, and fully committed.

• Good communication, coordination, and documentation skills.

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM2,999.00 per month
