The lead data translator serves as a strategic liaison between Business stakeholders and Group Data & AI division. This role helps to drive the strategic adoption and scaling of data & analytics and orchestrate engagement with business leaders. The lead data translator would help to design and develop analytical solutions that are aligned to business strategic objectives and ensure that analytical solutions deliver tangible business outcomes and long-term value creation.
- Define and drive the organisation data translation strategy to maximise business impact from data and analytics
- Partner with senior business leaders to identify, scope and map out the analytics roadmap for the business division and translate them into a clear portfolio of initiatives
- Translate complex business challenges into clear analytical problem statements and develop the solution approaches
- Oversee the alignment of analytical solutions and work closely with data analysts, data scientists and data engineers to ensure solutions are feasible, interpretable, and aligned to business needs
- Collaborate with business stakeholders in the formulation of business cases and success metrics to evaluate the impact of analytics initiatives
- Translate technical outputs into actionable business insights and recommendations
- Act as a thought leader in embedding data-driven decision making into core business processes and culture
- Collaborate with data translator community to build synergies and ensure consistency across the organisation
- Contribute best practices and promote data and analytics literacy within the business teams
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science or equivalent disciplines that focuses on extensive use of data for analysis
- 7+ years of experience in analytics, consulting, or business strategy roles with exposure to data-driven initiatives
- Strong understanding of analytical concept including formulation of hypothesis, and hypothesis validation
- Broad understanding of data, analytics and AI trends with ability to translate them into practical applications
- Strong leadership and influencing skills at senior executive level
- Deep business acumen with ability to balance quick wins with long-term value creation
- Excellent problem solving, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement skills Working level competency in Python and/or SQL programming required
- Experience in data visualization software such as Tableau
- Experience in insurance or financial services industry is a plus
- High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork
- Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
