Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer to develop and maintain desktop applications for a client that specializes in advanced semiconductor solutions. This role focuses on Python-based desktop application development, database integration, and the development of user-friendly software tools for engineering and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based desktop applications for engineering and testing environments.
• Develop graphical user interfaces (GUI) to support data management, system configuration, and test result visualization.
• Design and implement database solutions using MySQL for efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing.
• Develop automated tools and scripts to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to understand technical requirements and translate them into functional software solutions.
• Troubleshoot application issues, optimize system performance, and enhance existing software functionalities.
• Prepare and maintain software design specifications, technical documentation, and user guides.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant software development experience with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong hands-on programming experience in Python.
• Proficiency in MySQL, including database integration, SQL queries, and data management.
• Experience developing desktop applications with graphical user interfaces (GUI).
• Hands-on experience with PyQt or PySide is highly preferred.
• Experience with C/C++ will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with automated testing, data acquisition, or engineering software applications is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
