We are looking for an experienced SRE – VMware Cloud Foundation Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in VMware infrastructure, VCF platform administration, automation, lifecycle management, and enterprise production support.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience managing large-scale VMware environments and improving platform reliability through automation, monitoring, proactive troubleshooting, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments, including SDDC Manager, workload domains, lifecycle management, and the integrated VMware stack.
- Administer and troubleshoot VMware vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi environments.
- Manage VMware clusters including HA, DRS, resource allocation, storage, networking, and performance optimization.
- Support and administer VMware Aria / vRealize Suite, including tools such as vRA, vROps, vRLI, and vRNI.
- Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, deployment, and operational automation.
- Build and maintain PowerCLI / PowerShell scripts for VMware administration, reporting, monitoring, and automation.
- Support Windows Server and Linux virtual machines, including administration, troubleshooting, and patching.
- Monitor VMware infrastructure, identify performance or availability issues, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and resolve production incidents.
- Drive SRE and infrastructure reliability practices, including proactive incident prevention, automation, availability improvements, and operational excellence.
- Manage infrastructure lifecycle activities including upgrades, patching, VMware Lifecycle Manager, configuration changes, and change implementation.
- Support mission-critical production environments while adhering to SLA, Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management processes.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Cloud, DevOps, Security, Network, and Application teams to deliver reliable infrastructure services and platform improvements.
Must-Have Skills
- 5–7 years of overall IT Infrastructure / Virtualization / Cloud experience
- 2–3+ years of hands-on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) experience
- 3–5+ years of VMware vSphere / vCenter / ESXi administration
- Strong experience with SDDC Manager and Workload Domains
- VMware infrastructure Lifecycle Management / LCM
- VMware HA, DRS, clustering, storage, and networking
- VMware Aria / vRealize Suite – vRA, vROps, vRLI and/or vRNI
