We’re Hiring: Junior Business Development Executive (Merchant Growth)

About *************
************* is building an AI-powered Conversational Commerce platform that helps businesses sell and manage customers directly through conversations, starting with WhatsApp.
We’re looking for a Junior Business Development Executive who enjoys meeting business owners, building relationships, and turning conversations into opportunities.
What You’ll Do
• Identify and approach potential SME merchants
• Introduce and demonstrate ************* to business owners
• Conduct online and face-to-face product demos
• Follow up with leads through WhatsApp, calls, events and field visits
• Help merchants understand how Komers can improve their sales and operations
• Guide interested merchants toward onboarding and activation
• Maintain and update the merchant sales pipeline
• Represent Komers at startup, SME and industry events
• Gather merchant feedback and share insights with the product team
• Work directly with the founders on merchant growth strategies
Who We’re Looking For
You may be a fresh graduate or have 1–2 years of experience in business development, sales, partnerships or customer-facing roles.
We care more about your attitude, communication skills and willingness to learn than an impressive CV.
You’ll fit well if you:
• Are comfortable speaking with business owners
• Enjoy sales, networking and building relationships
• Can communicate confidently in Bahasa Malaysia and English
• Are proactive and comfortable working independently
• Are willing to do merchant visits and field sales when needed
• Are curious about AI, SaaS, e-commerce and startups
• Can handle targets and take ownership of results
Experience working with SMEs, F&B, retail, SaaS, fintech or e-commerce is a plus.
What Success Looks Like
Your job isn't just to collect leads.
Prospect → Demo → Merchant → Activated → Paying
You’ll be measured on qualified merchant leads, demos completed, merchants onboarded, merchant activation and paid conversions.
