About the Role
Avanta Academy is seeking an experienced and qualified WSH Course Developer & Trainer (Freelance) to support the development, review, assessment, and delivery of Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) courses.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing competency-based training materials, assessment instruments, learner guides, trainer guides, and conducting training and assessments in accordance with SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and WSQ requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Course Development
- Develop and review WSQ-aligned WSH training programmes and curriculum.
- Prepare courseware, learner guides, trainer guides, presentation slides, practical activities, and case studies.
- Develop assessment plans, assessment instruments, marking guides, and model answers.
- Ensure compliance with SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), WSQ, and training quality standards.
- Conduct curriculum reviews and continuous improvements based on learner and industry feedback.
- Support course accreditation and approval documentation.
Training & Facilitation
- Deliver engaging and effective WSH-related training programmes.
- Facilitate classroom, virtual, and blended learning sessions.
- Conduct practical demonstrations and workplace-based learning activities.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to learners.
- Ensure training objectives and competency outcomes are achieved.
Assessment
- Conduct WSQ assessments in accordance with competency standards.
- Evaluate learner performance fairly and consistently.
- Maintain proper assessment records and documentation.
- Support moderation and validation exercises when required.
Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must possess:
Adult Education Qualifications
ACTA (Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance) or
ACLP (Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance)
AND
DACE (Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education) or
DDDLP (Diploma in Design and Development of Learning for Performance)
Professional Experience
Applicants must have:
- Proven experience in developing WSQ Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) courses.
- Experience in competency-based curriculum design and courseware development.
- Experience conducting both training and assessments under the WSQ framework.
- Strong knowledge of SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and WSQ quality requirements.
- Experience preparing training materials, assessment plans, learner and trainer guides.
- Ability to facilitate adult learning effectively.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Candidates with the following will have an advantage:
- Registered WSHO and experienced WSH professional.
- Experience in developing and delivering courses such as:
- Workplace Safety and Health Management
- Risk Management
- Incident Investigation
- Behaviour-Based Safety
- Workplace Inspection
- WSH Committee Training
- Construction Safety Courses
- Manufacturing Safety Programmes
- WSHO, ECO, FSM, Auditor, or other relevant professional certifications.
- Experience supporting SSG course accreditation submissions.
- Familiarity with Training Management Systems (TMS).

Pay: $1,766.15 - $5,771.98 per month
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Singapore
