Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Strategic Sourcing Executive to drive supplier localization, Germany parts replacement programs, China sourcing activities, supplier development, and cost reduction initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Procurement teams to identify competitive suppliers, qualify alternative sources, and deliver measurable cost savings.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers from Malaysia, China, APAC and other strategic sourcing regions for mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components.

• Drive localization projects by identifying alternative sources for imported components, especially parts currently sourced from Germany and Europe.

• Source and evaluate local and overseas suppliers through RFQs, quotation analysis, supplier benchmarking, and commercial evaluation.

• Establish and maintain a reliable supplier network in China to support cost reduction and supply continuity objectives.

• Work closely with China suppliers on technical clarifications, tooling, sample submissions, qualification activities, pricing negotiations, and supplier development.

• Analyze part costs and identify savings opportunities through localization, alternative materials, design simplification, and manufacturing process improvements.

• Support Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives to optimize product cost while maintaining quality and performance.

• Coordinate supplier capability assessments, audits, qualification activities, and continuous improvement programs.

• Lead new supplier qualification projects from RFQ stage through PPAP/sample approval and mass production implementation.

• Collaborate with Engineering, QA, Production, and Procurement teams to resolve technical, quality, and supply chain issues.

• Maintain sourcing databases, supplier records, localization trackers, and cost-saving reports.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

• Fresh graduates with an engineering background are encouraged to apply

• 1-3 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supplier development, manufacturing, or engineering environment.

• Experience sourcing components, parts, or assemblies from China suppliers is highly preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

• Knowledge of machining, sheet metal fabrication, stamping, injection molding, casting, surface treatment, wiring harness, or assembly processes is an advantage.

• Knowledge of Incoterms, import/export processes, and overseas supplier management is an advantage.

• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Good command of written and spoken English. Mandarin is an added advantage due to frequent communication with China suppliers.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems.

• Willing to travel for supplier visits, audits, and sourcing activities.
