Job Purpose
To manage and maintain the hotel's IT infrastructure, systems, networks infrastructure, hardware, cybersecurity, and technology services to ensure secure and efficient operations. The IT Manager provides technical support to guests and associates, coordinates with brand and corporate IT teams, hotel ownership, and external vendors on IT projects, IT-related matters, projects, upgrades, and support and compliance requirements, while driving technology initiatives that enhance guest experience, operational efficiency, and business performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the Hotel Management System (HMS), Property Management System (PMS), and all integrated third-party applications to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with brand, corporate, and ownership IT standards.
• Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and security of the hotel's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, software, telecommunications, and technology services.
• Ensure all IT systems, applications, and business-critical platforms are available, secure, and functioning efficiently to support hotel operations.
• Manage and monitor the hotel's network infrastructure, internet connectivity, Wi-Fi services, firewalls, switches, access points, and communication systems.
• Provide timely and effective IT support to guests, associates, and hotel departments, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and guest services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and system-related incidents while maintaining agreed service levels.
• Maintain user accounts, access controls, software licensing, and system permissions in accordance with approved security policies.
• Ensure compliance with brand standards, corporate IT policies, cybersecurity requirements, data protection regulations, and audit requirements.
• Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect hotel systems, networks, guest information, and company data from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and security breaches.
• Manage data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes, including regular testing and documentation to ensure operational resilience.
• Coordinate and serve as the primary liaison with Brand IT, Corporate IT, hotel ownership representatives, managed service providers, and external vendors on IT projects, system enhancements, support requirements, audits, and compliance initiatives.
• Lead and support system upgrades, technology implementations, digital transformation initiatives,· infrastructure enhancements, and new technology deployments.
• Monitor system performance, conduct preventive maintenance, and implement improvement plans to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate inventories and documentation of IT assets, software licenses, support contracts, warranties, configurations, and system changes.
• Manage IT vendors and service providers to ensure service quality, contract compliance, and timely resolution of support issues.
• Prepare IT reports, technology risk assessments, maintenance schedules, and project updates for Management, Corporate IT, and Ownership when required.
• Preparing and managing the annual IT budget, including capital expenditure planning, cost control, procurement, and technology investments.
• Conduct IT training, awareness programs, and user guidance sessions to improve technology adoption, cybersecurity awareness, and system utilization.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance guest experience, operational effectiveness, security, and business performance.
• Ensure all IT incidents, service requests, maintenance activities, system changes, and project updates are properly documented and tracked.
• Act as the hotel's IT compliance coordinator during brand audits, internal audits, cybersecurity assessments, and ownership reviews.
• Ensure compliance with software licensing requirements and technology governance policies.
• Monitor cybersecurity risks and coordinate vulnerability assessments, security patching, and remediation activities.
• Investigate security incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Serve as the key point of contact between Hotel Management, Brand IT, Corporate IT, Ownership, and technology vendors to align IT initiatives with business objectives.
• Provide recommendations on technology investments, system enhancements, and digital innovation opportunities.
• Perform any other IT-related duties and responsibilities assigned by Management.

Qualifications, experience and skills

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of IT experience, preferably in the hotel or hospitality industry.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or IT management role is preferred.
• Experience with hotel systems such as HMS/PMS, PABX, POS, key card systems, telephone systems, CCTV, Wi-Fi, and other hotel technology is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of computers, hardware, software, networking, and internet systems.
• Familiar with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and common office applications.
• Basic knowledge of IT security, data backup, and disaster recovery.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to manage IT projects, suppliers, contractors, and budgets.
• Able to prepare proposals, obtain approval, and follow up on IT purchases, repairs, maintenance, and projects.
• Good communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Able to work independently, under pressure, and handle urgent IT issues when required.
• Customer-oriented and able to provide good support to guests and associates.

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM9,000.00 per month
