About the role
As Project Engineer (CSA) at PPE, you are the technical owner of all civil, structural, and architectural works on your project site. You supervise subcontractors, manage drawings and RFIs, enforce quality through the ITP and NCR process, and ensure the work on the ground is always aligned with what the drawings and specifications require.
Important: This is a project-based role. Candidates must be willing to relocate to project sites across Malaysia based on operational and project requirements.
Key responsibilities
Be on site during all active CSA construction hours — supervise workmanship, work sequence, and compliance with approved drawings and method statements
Check that subcontractors and workers understand their scope, quality requirements, and tolerances before each activity begins
Walk the site daily to identify deviations, buildability issues, and safety concerns before they cause rework or delays
Issue written work instructions to subcontractors before each new activity, specifying scope, sequence, method, quality requirements, and safety controls
Maintain and distribute the latest IFC drawing revisions to all site teams and subcontractors; remove superseded drawings from the work front
Raise RFIs for unclear, incomplete, or conflicting drawing information and track them to closure with the HQ engineering team or consultant
Mark up as-built changes progressively throughout construction and compile the complete as-built drawing set before project handover
Prepare and submit material approval submittals to the consultant or client for all CSA materials; track approval status until sign-off is received
Plan and conduct site inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) for each CSA activity; record results on the prescribed forms
Record actual CSA progress daily by activity and location; prepare the weekly progress update for the Project Manager and Scheduler
About you
Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (Bachelor's minimum)
3 to 5 years of site engineering experience on construction projects, with hands-on involvement in civil, structural, or architectural works
Demonstrated experience managing QA/QC systems on site — ITP compliance, NCR management, and material submittals
Able to read, interpret, and mark up civil, structural, and architectural drawings with confidence
Familiar with construction specifications, method statements, and standard construction QA/QC practices
Experienced with the RFI process — raising, tracking, and closing drawing queries with consultants and the engineering team
Knowledge of material submittal procedures and approval processes in a construction context
Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar tools; experience with IFC drawing management on site
Familiar with DOSH requirements and site safety obligations for high-risk CSA activities
Willing to be based at project sites nationwide
