Job Purpose
To support the planning, maintenance, upgrading, and operational readiness of the healthcare facility's infrastructure and building systems, ensuring a safe, compliant, and conducive environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Facilities Maintenance and Operations
- Assist in the day-to-day management of building and infrastructure maintenance works.
- Conduct condition assessments of buildings, roads, drainage systems, and other infrastructure assets.
- Investigate building defects, water seepage, structural concerns, and infrastructure failures.
- Provide technical recommendations for repairs, upgrades, and replacement programmes.
- Project Management
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of infrastructure, renovation, upgrading, and asset enhancement projects within the healthcare facility.
- Support the development of project scopes, technical requirements and specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules.
- Participate in feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical evaluations for proposed projects.
- Coordinate project implementation activities to ensure completion within approved budget, timeline, and quality requirements.
- Track project milestones and prepare progress reports for management.
- Contractor, Vendor, and Consultant Management
- Manage consultants, contractors, and service providers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular project meetings and site inspections.
- Monitor contractor performance, quality of work, and compliance with project requirements.
- Resolve project issues, disputes, and technical challenges in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper testing, commissioning, and handover of completed projects.
- Asset & Infrastructure Management
- Maintain records of building assets, infrastructure systems, and maintenance history.
- Assist in technical condition assessments and lifecycle planning of infrastructure assets.
- Support inventory management of maintenance materials and equipment.
- Update asset databases and maintenance management systems.
- Regulatory Compliance & Safety
- Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant building regulations, fire safety requirements, and healthcare facility standards.
- Participate in workplace safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Support audits, inspections, and accreditation exercises.
- Emergency Response Support
- Participate in facility emergency preparedness and business continuity activities.
- Assist in technical support and coordinating infrastructure-related emergency repairs and recovery works.
- Technical support for incident investigations involving building or infrastructure defects.
- Administration
- Generate monthly reports on maintenance activities and project status.
- Any ad-hoc duties assigned
Requirements
- Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or relevant FM discipline.
- Fire Safety Manager, Safety Manager or Project Manager Certification or Greenmark Manager will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is required. Experience in MS Project, BIM (Revit/Navisworks), and facilities management systems (e.g. Maximo or equivalent) will be advantageous.
- Fresh Degree holder in Civil Engineering / minimum 8 years of experience for diploma holders.
- Possess strong analytical and organisational skills with the ability to work independently and willing to go the extra mile to reach challenging goals within very tight timelines.
- Possess good interpersonal skills.
- Good communication skills in both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix team.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel and Powerpoint) is a must.
- Ability to work under pressure in a complex environment.
