We are seeking a talented Bioinformatics Specialist with a strong programming background to join our multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and geneticists. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building robust computational systems while solving challenging problems in genomics and bioinformatics.

About the role

• Design, develop, and maintain bioinformatics analysis pipelines for genomic, transcriptomic, and other omics datasets.

• Build scalable software solutions for processing, analyzing, and visualizing biological data. Develop tools and APIs that support clinical and research genomic workflows.

• Optimize computational workflows for performance, reproducibility, and scalability.

• Collaborate with medical professionals and lab professionals to translate scientific requirements into production-ready solutions.

• Implement quality assurance, testing, documentation, and best practices for software development.

• Evaluate and integrate emerging bioinformatics methods, algorithms, and technologies. Support cloud-based and high-performance computing environments.

Key responsibilities

About you

• MSc or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Genetics, Genomics, or a related field

• 3+ years of experience in bioinformatics, computational genomics, or related areas

• Strong programming skills in two or more of the following: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, C/C++, R

• Experience developing production-quality software and maintaining code repositories

• Proficiency with Linux/Unix environments and command-line tools

• Experience working with genomic data formats such as FASTQ, BAM/CRAM, VCF, BED, or GTF

• Strong understanding of next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies and analysis workflows

• Experience with Git and modern software development practices

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
