Job Summary

As a Systems Analyst (Java), you will lead the analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance of Java-based applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software solutions that meet user requirements and support business goals.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyse user requirements to create clear, actionable application specifications
• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain Java-based applications and web systems using frameworks such as Java/J2EE and Spring
• Collaborate with users, developers, QA teams, and project stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure quality delivery
• Perform application and database design, troubleshoot issues, integrate systems, and provide production support to maintain system stability
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation to support project implementation and ongoing maintenance
• Apply Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) principles to develop scalable and maintainable software solutions
• Manage project tasks effectively, demonstrating strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Work independently to translate business requirements into technical specifications and application designs
• Utilize DevOps tools and practices including Azure Spring Apps, Azure DevOps, source control, and CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment
• Conduct software testing including system, integration, regression, and functional testing to ensure application quality

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in systems analysis, design (including database design), development, implementation, and quality assurance
• Strong experience in Java/J2EE or Spring Framework and web-based application development
• Good knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience with COBOL, CICS, and DB2
• Experience with IBM MQ, Rules Engines, Responsive Web Design, and Service-Oriented Architecture
• Experience with Azure Spring Apps and Azure DevOps
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Amazon Q Developer
• Python or Apache Spark experience

• Employment type: Contract - 24 months
• Location: Central Region, Singapore
• Working Hours: 8:30AM to 6:00PM (Mon-Fri)
• Salary: $6000 - 8000 per month (no bonus)
• Working Arrangement: Full Onsite/Hybrid
