Project Nature

(T26) 1. Support and maintain existing enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, and local AI/LLM deployments. This includes VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), ESXi-based virtual environments, Stretched Clusters, SAN/vSAN, and containerisation platforms like Red Hat OpenShift or K8s/K3s;
2. Drive IT infrastructure projects, site preparation, and data centre relocations while strictly adhering to government security frameworks;
3. This role provides long-term operational support. Future contract extensions will be considered based on satisfactory performance;
4. Actual project and task assignments may be rearranged by the Managements after onboarding, depending on each candidate's abilities and strengths.

Duties

- Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the E&MSD;
a Manage daily system operations, performance monitoring, backups, and Disaster Recovery for mission-critical infrastructure, including AI-specific hardware (such as GPU clusters and high-performance storage). This role also involves handling critical incidents and providing non-office hours support for infrastructure maintenance, arranged on a roster basis (compensated by time off in lieu);
b Coordinate end-to-end infrastructure projects, system integrations, software release cycles, and routine patch management. Candidates are expected to assess operational strategies, develop execution plans, and take full ownership of tasks. They must drive assignments to completion independently and meet tight deadlines under high pressure, even with minimal support;
c Ensure compliance with Government IT security policies (e.g., S17, G3) and ISO27001/ISO27701 by facilitating Security Risk Assessments and Audits (SRAA). Alongside this, you will assist team in drafting comprehensive technical documents, operation procedures, tender specifications, and proposing solutions;
d Supervise junior staff, manage vendor activities, and perform Quality Assurance on contractor work. Candidates must maintain a high level of accountability by proactively updating management on task progress and risks, ensuring architectural roadmaps align seamlessly with overall business objectives.

Requirements

i Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, with at least 6 years of post-qualification IT experience. This must include a minimum of 2 years in an Architect, supervisory, or senior technical support role;
ii Solid hands-on experience in EITHER VMware enterprise technologies OR enterprise AI/LLM deployments and containerisation (e.g., Red Hat OpenShift, K8s/K3s). Dual-domain expertise is a distinct advantage. Relevant certifications, particularly VMware Certified Advanced Professional or credentials in containerisation, AI, and IT security, are highly preferred;
iii Strong vendor and project management skills (MS Project required) are highly desirable, ideally complemented by a solid understanding of networking, Government IT security standards, ISO 27001/27701, and data centre relocation. We are also particularly keen on candidates familiar with DevOps practices (CI/CD), ITIL principles, and Operational Readiness Assessments, ensuring that any proposed solutions are operationally feasible and easy to maintain in the long run;
iv Candidates should possess an Architect mindset with strong standalone problem-solving skills to resolve operational issues independently. We are looking for proactive team players who actively share knowledge, manage risks effectively, and have a genuine passion for technology. Continuous improvement and an eagerness to self-learn are essential, even if not every technical requirement is currently met;
v Good written English for drafting technical and tender documents. Attaining Level 2 in the Use of English paper of the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or an equivalent qualification (e.g., Level 5 or above in HKDSE English Language, or Grade C or above in HKALE Use of English), is highly preferable. A 10-minute writing test may be required after the interview.
Technical Skills:
. At least 6 years' experience in Infrastructure (INF);
. At least 3 years' experience in Server Virtualisation Technology (SVT);
. At least 1 year's experience in Linux System Administration (LIN);
. At least 1 year's experience in Networking (NET);
. At least 1 year's experience in Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP);
. At least 1 year's experience in Storage Area Network (SAN);
. 1 year's experience in Experience in Datacentre Maintenance (DCM) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in Information Security Management (ISM) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in IT Security (ITS) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in Security Risk Assessment and Audit (SAA) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in Technical Architectural Support (TAS) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in Virtual LAN/LAN Switching (VLS) is an advantage.
Non-technical Skills:
. Good written English is a must;
. At least 1 year's experience in vendor management (VMG);
. 1 year's experience in people management (PMG) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in project management (PRM) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in IT procurement (PRO) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in presentation (PRT) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in site preparation (SPE) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in managing corporate IT security framework (CSF) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in work with the Government (GOV) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in Government tendering procedures (GTP) is an advantage;
. Excellent written English is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in managing Government projects (MGP) is an advantage.
- Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent;
- At least 6 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 2 years' relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
