Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced POS Installation Support Engineer to handle the end-to-end installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of POS systems across client/store locations. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with POS hardware, peripherals, software installation, basic networking, and field support.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and assemble complete POS terminals, monitors, mounting hardware, and cabling at client/store locations.
- Configure and integrate POS peripherals including barcode scanners, receipt/label printers, customer displays, cash drawers, payment terminals, and weighing scales.
- Install and configure POS applications, drivers, runtimes, licenses, updates, and patches.
- Configure Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth, USB, and serial/RS232 connectivity between POS systems and peripherals.
- Perform end-to-end testing of hardware, software, peripherals, and network connectivity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, peripheral, and connectivity issues during and after installation.
- Provide basic POS orientation and training to store staff.
- Maintain installation tools, cables, spare parts, and equipment inventory.
- Travel to multiple client/store locations and support after-hours installations when required.
- Follow established installation, safety, quality, and documentation standards.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ Years of Hands on POS Installation experience.
- Proven experience in POS installation, computer hardware assembly, IT field support, or a related technical role.
- Hands-on knowledge of USB, RS232/serial, HDMI, Ethernet, and power cabling.
- Experience installing software on Windows, Android, or Linux-based POS systems.
- Basic knowledge of Wi-Fi, IP addressing, routers, and switches.
- Familiarity with common POS peripherals and payment devices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer-facing skills with the ability to train store users.
- Physically comfortable with lifting/carrying equipment, working under counters, and using ladders for installation activities.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including outside normal business hours when required.
