Overview

The Risk Associate will support the MIC of Risk Management in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting key risks across the business, including operational risk, market and trading risk, custody and wallet risk, liquidity risk, technology and cyber risk, third-party risk, and regulatory risk.

The successful candidate will work closely with Compliance, Operations, Technology, Product, Finance, Legal, Information Security, and senior management to ensure risk controls remain effective, documented, and aligned with applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing risk management policies and procedures to mitigate identified risks, including both financial and non-financial risks.
• Monitor and analyze operations to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within the exchange’s processes and systems.
• Assist in evaluating risks related to our products and services, ensuring robust risk management practices are in place.
• Collaborate with various departments (e.g., IT, Compliance, Operations) to ensure risk mitigation strategies are integrated into daily operations.
• Assist in conducting regular risk assessments to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies.
• Prepare and present risk reports to the Risk Management team and senior management, highlighting findings and recommendations.
• Participate in the development and execution of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
• Assist in the investigation of any operational incidents or breaches and contribute to the development of corrective action plans.
• Assist with market surveillance projects and system enhancements, including performing UAT and supporting the implementation of surveillance systems, managing daily trade surveillance alerts and reports, and conducting investigations arising from alerts or referrals of suspicious activity.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in technology that could affect the exchange’s risk profile.
• Assist in preparing training materials and conducting training sessions on risk management practices for internal teams to enhance awareness and understanding of risk issues.
• Undertake any other responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Business Management, or related disciplines.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience (fresh graduates with strong quantitative backgrounds are welcome to apply).
• Strong interest in cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, and financial markets.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong risk awareness and control mindset.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Able to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and handle ad hoc assignments.
• Excellent written and spoken in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Pay: $18,000.00 - $30,000.00 per month
