Assistant Housekeeper – Cleaning Company

Job Summary

The Assistant Housekeeper supports the Housekeeping Supervisor and Operations Manager in coordinating daily cleaning and housekeeping services. The position is responsible for supervising cleaning staff, monitoring service quality, organizing work assignments, and ensuring that client facilities are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily cleaning and housekeeping operations at client sites.
• Supervise and support cleaning staff to ensure duties are completed properly and on schedule.
• Allocate cleaning tasks and monitor employee attendance and performance.
• Conduct regular inspections of offices, commercial buildings, residential properties, and other assigned areas.
• Ensure cleaning services meet company and client quality standards.
• Train employees on cleaning procedures, proper use of equipment, chemicals, and safety practices.
• Monitor cleaning materials, equipment, uniforms, and supplies.
• Maintain inventory records and request supplies when necessary.
• Communicate with clients regarding cleaning requirements, service issues, and special requests.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and report significant issues to management.
• Prepare daily or weekly reports on cleaning activities, staff performance, inspections, and operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, hygiene, and environmental requirements.
• Assist the Supervisor in scheduling staff and coordinating additional or special cleaning services.
• Report damaged equipment, maintenance issues, safety hazards, and other concerns.
• Support the Operations Manager in improving cleaning procedures and service efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Facilities Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a cleaning company, housekeeping, facilities management, or a similar service environment.
• Experience supervising or coordinating cleaning staff is preferred.
• Good leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleaning standards.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, hygiene procedures, and workplace safety.
• Basic computer skills and ability to prepare reports.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, or public holidays when required.
