About the Job
We are seeking a data-driven and analytical Data Scientist to develop data-driven solutions that support business operations and decision-making. The role involves analysing complex datasets, building machine learning models, automating data workflows, and developing AI-powered solutions to address practical business challenges. You will work with large-scale datasets and modern data science tools to uncover insights, improve processes, and deliver scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and preprocess large datasets to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and actionable insights.
- Develop and evaluate statistical and machine learning models for prediction, classification, forecasting, and optimisation.
- Perform exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model selection, and hyperparameter optimisation.
- Build automated data processing and machine learning pipelines to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Develop data visualisations, dashboards, and reports to communicate insights and key performance indicators.
- Apply statistical methods to investigate relationships within data and support data-driven decision-making.
- Develop AI and machine learning solutions for business and operational problems.
- Utilise cloud computing resources, including CPU and GPU infrastructure, for large-scale data processing and model training.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into practical data science solutions.
- Research and evaluate emerging AI/ML techniques and technologies for potential application to business problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in statistics, data analysis, machine learning, and optimisation.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis and machine learning.
- Experience with NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, Matplotlib, and Seaborn.
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with data visualisation and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Plotly.
- Understanding of machine learning algorithms, model evaluation, feature engineering, and hyperparameter tuning.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to communicate technical findings clearly.
- Ability to work with large datasets and optimise data processing workflows.
- Internship, research, or project experience in data science, machine learning, or AI is an advantage.
Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)
- Experience with LightGBM, XGBoost, or other gradient-boosting frameworks.
- Familiarity with Optuna or other hyperparameter optimisation frameworks.
- Experience with Dask, Polars, or other tools for large-scale data processing.
- Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud computing platforms.
- Experience working with Docker, Git, and Linux development environments.
- Knowledge of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Familiarity with LangChain or similar LLM application frameworks.
- Experience developing APIs or integrating machine learning models into applications using tools such as FastAPI.
- Exposure to computer vision and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or Ultralytics YOLO.
