About the Role

Our client is an established, Singapore-based logistics and freight forwarding company. The company is growing its Singapore team to keep pace with customer demand.

They are looking for an organised, customer-focused Customer Service Assistant/ Executive to coordinate shipments end-to-end — from documentation and carrier negotiation to warehouse release and billing. The successful candidate will be the main point of contact for customers and will work closely with overseas agents, hauliers and the Transport Department to keep shipments moving smoothly.

What You'll Do

•    Prepare shipping documents such as Bills of Lading, arrival notices, and declare import/export permits

•    Liaise with customers on their shipments and respond to enquiries promptly

•    Check freight rates and negotiate with carriers

•    Communicate with overseas agents to coordinate shipments

•    Prepare job instructions for the haulier and Transport Department

•    Update customer inventory records in the warehouse

•    Send tally sheets to customers after shipments arrive and are unstuffed in the warehouse

•    Prepare Warehouse Release Orders for cargo release or customer pick-up

•    Prepare invoices to bill customers

•    Perform other duties as assigned by management

What Our Client Is Looking For

•    Prior experience in customer service, shipping coordination or freight forwarding preferred

•    Proficient in MS Excel and Google Sheets

•    Knowledge of freight/logistics systems (e.g. Sysfreight or similar) is an added advantage

•    Good communication skills, both written and spoken, for liaising with customers, carriers and overseas agents

•    Organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple shipments/deadlines at once

•    A team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced SME logistics environment
